Coach Bennett’s Pearls of Wisdom
In this blog series, I am going to share with you some of Coach Bennett’s pearls of wisdom and how they apply to my art practice.
My favorite way to work out is to run – I am one of the crazy people who loves running on the treadmill. Don’t get me wrong, I also love running outside, but living in Texas, and being a working mom with an art side hustle, the treadmill offers me a no-excuse way to get a run in consistently. So every morning, after the kids are off to school, I head to the gym and hop on the treadmill AND I turn on the Nike Running App.
I have been using this app for a VERY LONG TIME (12 years!). I love it! I tell every one about it! My favorite thing about the app are the guided runs, in particular the ones with Coach Bennett. As you run, he kindly and gently coaches you. And he will often say: “This is about running, but this is not about running.” And that is because his sage advice can always be used for things other than running.
