Do you ever feel uninspired? Look at the blank page and don’t know where to start? Me too! When that happens, these are the 5 places I go to for inspiration:
Do you ever feel uninspired? Look at the blank page and don’t know where to start? Me too! When that happens, these are the 5 places I go to for inspiration:
The local grocery store
The flower department is always filled with pretty flowers and arrangements. Look at these beauties I found the other day.
The library
There is always a bunch of great books on art and gardening – but my local library is also quite idyllic.
This is my recent library find: The Flower Workshop by Ariella Chezar –
But also, look at how peaceful and pretty the grounds at the library are:
My books
Speaking of books, leaving the computer screen and flipping through pretty pages can get the inspiration juices flowing. I have a few design, painting and historical books that just by browsing, I feel like I can make something new. Here are a few of my favorites:
Take a class on Skillshare
I love skillshare classes! Sometimes, I have the idea for a pattern, but I am not sure how to execute in. So I turn to skillshare to learn how. If you are interested, use this link for a free month on skillshre.
Go for a walk
Being outside is a such a great way to get inspired. I guess it is a way to get out of your head and just breathe the air outside. A walk helps me shut down my inner critic and feel calmer. And that is always a positive thing!
But wait? What about Instagram and Pinterest?
One thing you will notice that I don’t do is go to pinterest or instagram. I leave that stage for when I already know what I want to do, but need some more details. For example: I know I want to paint colorful fruit and I have some pictures from the grocery store. Now, I want to see so different ones, then I search pinterest and start creating a board.
How do you get unstuck?
Happy creating!
