Art Deco Spring

I dream of gardens in other eras and places, but I'll admit—I don't have a green thumb in real life. So I grow mine on paper instead, with paint and patience. This collection is my garden of tulips and wildflowers, hand-painted in gouache and transported to fabric. It's soft and romantic, but there's strength in those brushstrokes. The imperfect beauty of gouache is exactly what makes it real.
